AdvaMed’s Ophthalmic Sector has, in recent years, educated members of Congress concerning inequities of the Medicare reimbursement system for devices and procedures that help maintain vision health. The sector has particularly addressed age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, two conditions that have become more prevalent in the nation’s aging population.
